Katy Perry continued her «Smile Video Series» this week, dropping two stunning and creative animated videos for her powerful Smiletracks, «Resilient» and «What Makes a Woman.»

«Resilient» is depicted in a sweet stop motion video of a seed that «grows right through the cracks» into a massive, blooming tree. The clip also pays tribute to the singer’s past, with a plastic bag floating through the air as a nod to her «Firework» lyric, «Do you ever feel like a plastic bag? Drifting through the wind, wanting to start again?»

Perry’s beloved late cat Kitty Purry, her current dog Nugget and her fiancé Orlando Bloom’s late dog Mighty all also make appearances. The star herself steps off a bus at the end, holding her newborn daughter, Daisy Dove.

In «What Makes a Woman,» Perry shows just that, highlighting all kinds of strong, beautiful women.

Beyoncé’s ‘Brown Skin Girl’ Video Is Now Available Outside of ‘Black Is King’: Watch

The visual features appearances from Naomi Campbell, Lupita Nyong’o, Kelly Rowland and Blue Ivy Carter.

Ring the alarm! Just weeks after unveiling Black Is King, Beyoncé has gifted the wider world with the stunning video for «Brown Skin Girl.»

On Aug. 24, the superstar uploaded the celebratory clip as a standalone visual on YouTube. (Previously, the video for the fan favorite track had only been available to Disney+ subscribers as part of Beyoncé’s most recent musical film, which dropped exclusively on the streaming service July 31.)

In the video, Beyoncé enlists (and name drops) the likes of Naomi Campbell, Lupita Nyong’o and former Destiny’s Child bandmate Kelly Rowland to help laud and pass down the ideals of Black identity, heritage and beauty to future generations of brown skinned girls.

«Oh, have you looked in the mirror lately?/ Wish you could trade eyes with me ‘cause/ There’s complexities in complexion/ But your skin, it glow like diamonds/ Pigment like the earth, you be giving birth/ To everything alive, baby, know your worth,» the singer preaches on the track alongside guest features from Saint Jhn, Wizkid and her eldest daughter Blue Ivy Carter, who closes out the song and video by echoing her mom’s empowering lyrics.

Prior to serving as a centerpiece to Black Is King, «Brown Skin Girl» first appeared on Beyoncé’s 2019 LP The Lion King: The Gift, which was itself a companion soundtrack to Disney’s live-action remake of The Lion King. Queen Bey provided the voice of Nala in the reimagining of the 1995 classic alongside Donald Glover (Simba), Chiwetel Ejiofor (Scar), James Earl Jones (Mufasa) and more.

Miley Cyrus attends the 61st Annual GRAMMY Awards at Staples Center on Feb. 10, 2019 in Los Angeles.

After building up buzz online for the past few weeks, Miley Cyrus finally unveiled the first taste of her upcoming album, She Is Miley Cyrus, with the first single, «Midnight Sky» and its accompanying video.

«It’s been a long night and the mirror is tellin’ me to go home/ But it’s been a long time since I’ve felt this good on my own/ Nine years went by with my hands tied up in your ropes/ Forever and ever, no more,» she sings in the empowering new track, which dropped after midnight on Friday (Aug. 14).

Miley also stuns in the self-directed music video, laying luxuriously among colorful gumballs or crooning seductively in a neon disco decked in a black Chanel bodysuit complete with Swarovski crystal-covered long black gloves. The vignette draws inspiration from strong female musical icons, including Stevie Nicks, Joan Jett and Debbie Harry, as Cyrus takes control of her own narrative from the media and becomes fully confident in herself.

The star has yet to announce a release date for She Is Miley Cyrus, but the new LP will follow her 2019 EP She Is Coming, which featured lead single «Mother’s Daughter.»

The Lion King: The Gift.

What’s Love Got To Do With (A Hit)? Hear Kygo’s Massive Edit of the Tina Turner Classic

Kygo and Tina Turner

As music lore goes, Tina Turner didn’t event want to record «What’s Love Got To Do With It.» The music icon didn’t like the track and only made it after being convinced to do so by her manager. The 1984 song of course went on to become an all-time classic, and to this day remains Turner’s first and only solo song to reach No. 1 on the Hot 100 in the U.S.

Today (July 17), the dance world extends a particular fist pump of gratitude to Turner, with the release of Kygo‘s «What’s Love Got To Do With It» edit. The Norwegian producer pares down the beginning of the song to just a simple beat and Turner’s vocals before adding drums and then blowing the roof off with piano stabs and a wall of synth and Tina asking the song’s titular existential query. Is this remix the dance song of the summer? Possibly.

Directed by Sarah Bahbah, the corresponding video tracks the dissolution of a romance, following a couple in love as anxiety, jealousy and distance drive them apart before the heroine reclaims her power via the song and a large bottle of champagne. Watch the clip below.

The «What’s Love Got To Do With It» is another victory for Kygo, who’s already have a big summer after the release of his sophomore album, Golden Hour. The LP is currently at No. 1 on the Top Dance/Electronic albums chart. Today Kygo and album collaborator Ryan Tedder will also be performing a socially distanced version of Golden Hour track «Lose Somebody» as part of iHeartRadio’s Summer Camp With the Stars series.

Katy Perry unveiled a brand-new performance video of her latest single “Smile” on Tuesday (July 14).

In the kooky clip, the pregnant pop star dresses up in her most fashionable clown attire, wearing an orange, polka-dotted blazer and matching blue jumper with whimsical tuxedo detailing across the front.

“Yeah, I’m thankful/ Scratch that, baby, I’m grateful/ Gotta say it’s really been a while/ But now I got back that smile/ I’m so thankful/ Scratch that, baby, I’m grateful/ Now you see me shine from a mile/ Finally got back that smile, smile,” Perry croons on the joyful chorus as she performs the track backed by a number of giant clown hands, seated atop a comically oversized clown shoe and more.

Elsewhere in the clip, the miniaturized singer balances on her very own grin and nearly gets carried away by a bouquet of bright yellow balloons stamped with her initials.

“Smile” serves as the title track for the pop star’s upcoming fifth studio album, which is set to be released Aug. 14 via Capitol Records. The LP will also feature lead single “Daisies” as well as Perry’s 2019 one-offs “Never Really Over” and “Harleys in Hawaii.”

No, you’re not hallucinating. Dua Lipa has a new music video out, and it’s pretty spaced-out. The visual for the British pop star’s single “Hallucinate” was directed by Lisha Tan and animated by the design experts at The Mill and it’s a throwback to the raging Studio 54 era, with a cartoon Dua taking the stage at the weirdest club you’ve ever seen.

Inspired by everything from 1960s underground Zap! Comix, early Mickey Mouse, Adventure Time and Superjail, the clip opens the doors of perception to a bizarro world of dancing vegetables and unicorns, exploding stars, anthropomorphic ice cream cones and killer clowns.

“Hallucinate” is the latest track lifted from Lipa’s hit sophomore album Future Nostalgia, following “Don’t Start Now,» “Physical” and “Break My Heart.» Future Nostalgia dropped March 27 and went straight to No. 1 in the U.K. and Australia, and peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200.

Released today (July 8), the clip features Cyrus giving haute couture Coyote Uglyvibes in a trio of strappy, flowy, leathery cowgirl outfits while she hangs around a horse pen as Diplo performs manual labor in a Hank Williams t-shirt.

The duo then ride around in a front end loader and generally horse around the farm. It’s the fifth video to spring forth from Diplo’s debut country album Diplo Presents Thomas Wesley Chapter 1: Snake Oil, which has spent five weeks on the Top Country Albums chart, where it’s currently sitting at No. 9. Watch the video below.

Diplo spent this past weekend celebrating the American West with a Fourth of July weekend trip to Joshua Tree, CA. Here, he wore stars and stripes-centric clothing and lit sparklers with his kids in the desert.
