Khalid Teams Up With Dance Crew in Joyful ‘Know Your Worth’ Video

0

Khalid touts the virtues of refusing to settle for less in “Know Your Worth,” his collaboration with British DJ-production duo Disclosure. In the new video, the singer teams up with a dance crew, whose joyful choreography peppers the clip.

In the Daniel Russel-directed visual, Khalid delivers the uplifting track’s words of encouragement as he performs on a dimly lit stage. Dancers dressed in colorful garb reenact the sentiments of the soothing lyrics, which address abandoning bad relationships and moving toward supportive ones. “You don’t know your worth/All the things I know that you deserve,” he sings on the chorus. “Say it’s not real if it doesn’t hurt/Find someone you know will put you first/Find someone who loves you at your worst.”

“Know Your Worth” is the Texas singer’s second collaboration with Disclosure, following their 2019 hit, “Talk,” off Khalid’s sophomore album, 2019’s Free Spirit, which arrived last April. In October, he teamed up with Major Lazer for a new song, “Trigger.” The R&B artist also recently unveiled his solo tracks, “Up All Night” and “Eleven.”

KUWTK Recap: Nasty Kim-Kourtney Fight and Khloe’s Complicated Thoughts on Tristan

0

The Season 18 premiere ended with an explosive throwdown between two sisters, which Nori calls «a direct result of their gluten-free diet.»

The woman behind Nori’s Black Book — a viral parody Instagram account written entirely in the voice of Kim Kardashian’s sassy 5-year-old daughter — is bringing her talents to TooFab.

Each week, «Nori» will be recapping new episodes of «Keeping Up with the Kardashians» and giving us HER take on all the family drama.

(NOTE: The below was not actually written by North West.)

After Kim and Khloe Kardashian’s vacation in the Bahamas with their kids, Kim hit New York for Fashion Week and to do press to promote the launch of her shapewear line, SKIMS, and the launch of her KKW collection with supermodel Winnie Harlow.

While in the car headed to dinner, Kim got a call from Khloe’s baby daddy and habitual cheater, Tristan Thompson. He told Kim he was in New York and he just saw her. Kim was surprised to get his call because even though they’re not feuding anymore, they’ve never been close either. Nevertheless, Kim invited Tristan to dinner.

It’s interesting to see mommy trying to move in a positive direction with Tristan. I won’t be, but it’s cute for her. – NW

After her call with Tristan, Kim Facetimed Khloe to tell her that Tristan called her and she invited him to dinner. Kim said that even though she brutalized him, she has decided to forgive him because he’s True’s dad and it’s what’s best. She referenced that Kris Jenner cheated on their dad and all of their friends forgave her, so it’s the same thing. Khloe said that it’s nice of Kim and she was beyond generous for inviting him to dinner. Khloe said the dinner sounded awkward.

When will we be forgiving and invite Jordyn to dinner? She’s Stormi’s mom! Do I not understand these rules? -NW

Back in LA, Kylie Jenner visited her Kylie Cosmetic Office. She felt amazing now that she’s 22, but she said that she feels like she’s 47. Kris updated her about her upcoming collaboration with Balmain and Olivier Rousteing. Balmain would be using the Kylie Cosmetic products on the models in their Paris Fashion Week show, which Kylie would walk in and close. Kylie and Kris agreed that the collaboration would be big for Kylie Cosmetics.

Auntie Kylie is 22 and she feels 47, but looks 63. Age is really just a number. – NW

Kourtney Kardashian took a month-long vacation in Italy, but she returned to work soon after. Her assistant ran through her schedule for her day and she had a lot going on including filming KUWTK and shooting in her home for Architectural Digest. She had anxiety knowing she wasn’t going to have any real privacy and that 40 people would be in her house.

The idea of having to work in order to earn money can be triggering when you don’t do it on a regular basis. – NW

Kourtney told Khloe that she hated her hair, she was over glam, and she didn’t want to film and maybe not film ever again. Khloe was speechless. Khloe said that Kourtney could’ve quit, but she didn’t and now they were right back where they left off which was confusing.

Khloe recommended to Kourtney that she should start her day with a prayer of gratitude, but Kourtney is visibly uninterested in what Khloe was talking about. Kourtney ignored Khloe, checked her phone and said, «I just have so much to do,»

Even though Auntie Kourt is ridiculous, I can’t blame her for not listening to Auntie Khloe. No one should be taking advice from someone who bedazzles Febreeze bottles. They’re clearly unstable. – NW

Back in New York, Kim announced to her friends that she invited Tristan to dinner. They were in disbelief. Tristan showed up alone and everyone was super friendly with each other and cracking jokes. Kim explained to the dinner table that she and Tristan used to not get along but now that’s over. Kim was pleased that dinner went well and it wasn’t awkward at all. Khloe FaceTimed Kim after to see how everything went and Kim assured her that the dinner went well and that they really like Tristan now.

Mommy’s friends at dinner were very D-List, so Tristan fit right in. When LaLa Anthony is the most famous person at the table you know it’s bad. – NW

Back in Calabasas, Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe all discussed the bill from their Costa Rica trip for North’s birthday. Kourtney was mad that she was the only one being sent a huge bill instead of production, since they filmed the trip for the show. Khloe jumped in and gave an opposing opinion, which upset Kourtney because she felt like Khloe was taking production’s side and not hers. Kourtney told Khloe not to involve herself, but Khloe said that if she can’t be involved then don’t talk about it around her.

To be clear, Auntie Kourt was the only one charged because she was not invited. She also refused to do glam or film the majority of scenes while on the trip. So yes, you received an invoice. Costa Rica was a work trip. You weren’t working, so production, nor myself will be covering your expenses. Take it up with HR. – NW

At Kylie’s house, Kendall Jenner helped Kylie create a look for the Balmain models for her Kylie Cosmetic collaboration. Since Kendall is a supermodel, Kylie wanted to practice her makeup looks on her and get advice from her on how to walk the catwalk.

If Auntie Kylie wanted to learn how to walk the catwalk she should’ve asked a real model. – NW

Later at Khloe’s house, Tristan came to visit with True. Khloe has an open door policy for Tristan to see their daughter whenever he wants. Tristan was supposed to go inside and eat with the kids, but Kim invited him to eat outside with her, Khloe, Kourtney, and Kris. Given their history, Khloe was surprised that Kim extended an olive branch to Tristan again. Khloe wasn’t completely comfortable because she hadn’t had a dinner with Tristan without True since they broke up. She wanted to set boundaries because it’s still a delicate time period. She wished she was asked first before Kim invited him to eat with them.

Tristan was in a lot of scenes this episode. I see where this is going. I’ve had to draw up a lot of contracts for many boyfriends in my day. I’ve also terminated many contracts. – NW

In Paris, Kris was getting ready and setting-up for the Kylie Cosmetics collaboration with Balmain. She was in Paris without Kylie though, because Kylie was sick and couldn’t make it on the plane. Kris had her see their family doctor in hopes that she would be well enough to come to Paris, but ultimately she was too sick to make the trip.

Kris had to press on without Kylie, but she was nervous about Olivier Rousteing’s feelings about Kylie not being there. Kris offered to ask Kendall to walk in the show, but Kendall turned her down because she had work obligations.

What they didn’t show you was Kris begging Olivier to let her walk in the show and he almost cancelled the whole collaboration because of her audacity. He said he’d rather lose millions than send Kris down his runway. – NW

Back in LA, Kim was going through Khloe’s closet telling her everything she hated. Khloe brought up Tristan. Khloe expressed that while it was nice of Kim to invite Tristan to dinner, they don’t need to be hanging out with Tristan for no reason. It hadn’t been a year yet since they broke up, so it’s a lot so soon. Kim said she gets it and she’ll try to do better.

Being in Khloe’s closet is like being in a Goodwill store. – NW

Later at Khloe’s house, Khloe confronted Kourtney about how she’s being rude when Kourtney thinks she’s just joking. Kim added that her communication is super negative and bad vibes. Kourtney felt like her attitude back to them is a reflection of their attitude towards her. Kourtney told them that they just don’t like change, but Kim and Khloe said that wasn’t true. It’s just that Kourtney has a bad attitude and she’s become a different person and not in the best way. Khloe wanted resolution but it seemed like Kourtney did not.

Because of her nasty attitude, I avoid auntie Kourt at all times. She has an attitude like it’s my fault her Tumblr page, POOSH, hasn’t taken off. – NW

Later, Kim met up with Jonathan at a sushi restaurant. Kim told Jonathan that Kylie has strep throat so she couldn’t go to Paris for her collaboration with Balmain. Kris had been calling Kim crying and asking her to take Kylie’s place because she’s in panic mode. Kim declined because she spent a lot of time separating her brand, KKW Beauty, from Kylie Cosmetics. Kim felt bad because Kris was begging and even bribed her with money and a jet to get her to go, but it wouldn’t make sense for her.

It’s all about the brand. We worked so hard on making KKW Beauty the more sophisticated and less successful version of Kylie Cosmetics. It didn’t make good business sense to attach ourselves to the Balmain collaboration. It would’ve just confused our consumers.

Kris tried to bribe me with $300,000 to go Paris and I told her to cry me a river. I don’t get out of bed for anything less than $1.5 million. – NW

Later, at Khloe’s house Kim, Kourtney, Khloe and Kendall talked about how Kris was desperate for someone to come to Paris to take Kylie’s place. Kim said that Kris was freaked out because she’s used to her and Khloe working no matter what, unlike Kendall and Kourtney. Kendall lashed out at Kim over her comments. Kendall said that she’s been sick and has had panic attacks and she works her butt off whether she’s sick or not. Kim reiterated that her and Khloe are the ones that will work no matter what and that Kourtney just doesn’t care.

This caused Kourtney to lash out at Kim. Kourtney said that she would eff Kim up if she brought it up again. Kim started to laugh in her face, only upsetting Kourtney more. Kourtney didn’t want to hear about work ethic as if Kim was better than her because she worked more. She told Kim that if she didn’t want to work hard and wanted to be a stay at home mom that would be fine. As she finished her statement, she threw her water at Kim and rushed her while Kim was on the ground.

Kim told her not to ever come at her like that again and that she would punch her in her face. Kourtney dared her to do it, and the girls got physical. Kim and Kourtney began to punch, kick, slap and scratch each other. Kim slapped Kourtney in her face multiple times. Khloe tried to break the girls up with no success. Kendall just stared in amazement. The episode ended on a «To Be Continued,» right after we saw Kim chasing Kourtney down the hall for one more slap in the face.

Penelope’s assault on her nanny makes so much sense now, her mother is a savage. This is a direct result of their gluten-free diet. Putting your hands on someone is never okay. Most jobs you would get fired for this type of unruly, violent behavior. However, this fight is good for ratings so I put a bonus in Auntie Kourt’s check this month.

I am working with law enforcement in an effort to press charges against Auntie Kourt for attacking mommy. I have given them a copy of this episode to be used as evidence. They will clearly see that mommy acted in pure self-defense, she’s the victim. We would sue, but Auntie Kourt doesn’t have anything. Not worth my time. – NW

Harry Styles shared his quarantine experience on a FaceTime call with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, discussing his adjustment to isolation, his daily schedule, and thoughts on the ongoing pandemic.

“I think we’re kind of adjusting to the new normal,” he told Lowe. “I think for a lot of people, the reality’s setting in. … At first, it’s like, ‘Oh, we’re all in and we get to watch movies and eat burritos,’ and live the kind of meme life. And then you speak to people around the world. … I have some friends in Italy and stuff, and for them it’s really scary.”

“There’s hundreds of people dying every day and you kind of, if you’re in your house, you get to kind of remove from it a little bit and you get to watch films and read books and listen to music, which is amazing,” he continued. “But I think you get that humbling moment where you just remember that actually this is a very serious thing. So, yeah, it’s definitely been an adjustment, and there’s people who aren’t with their families, and it’s a really hard time to be a single person living on your own right now.”

Styles is currently staying with friends, cooking, and also getting food delivered — while the option lasts. “We’ve been ordering as long as we can because we figured there’ll be a point where we can’t, and we obviously know the businesses are struggling,” he noted.

He’s also been maintaining somewhat of a routine while under self-quarantine. “I meditate. So I’ll meditate in the morning, and then have a coffee and do some reading to kind of just try to wake up a little bit,” he said. “And then I go for a run, try and get some air and some sunshine, and try and work out in the morning or something. And then I’ll try to do a little work and just go for a walk in the afternoon. I have just been trying to get some air and not see anyone. But I’ve been going for drives and stuff just to get some air and some sun on my face.”

Styles recently rescheduled his European tour in support of his new album, Fine Line, to 2021. “We were hitting the road in a couple of weeks,” he told Lowe. “It’s kind of across the board. Everyone’s shut down, so it doesn’t feel so ‘Woe is me, why is this happening to me?’ type thing.”

However, he’s been using the time at home to create music. “I’ve been writing so much,” he said. “To be honest, I’m doing some of the stuff that I should be doing more often anyway. … I should be playing the guitar more. I should be writing poems and lyrics more. So I’ve been doing a lot of that.”

He also suspected that time in quarantine will produce a lot of music. “I think a lot of powerful music is going to come from that,” he said, “because ultimately you have people who have a need to express themselves through music and writing and film and so many different ways, who are now having a lot of extra time with no distractions. … It gives you an ability to have almost like a bird’s-eye view of the world and your life.”

While in quarantine, Styles’ friend Stevie Nicks recently sent out a PSA warning fans to stay home and practice social distancing. She also compared Fine Line to a Fleetwood Mac classic: “Way to go H,” she said. “It is your Rumours.”

First Stream: New Music From Dua Lipa, PartyNextDoor, Pearl Jam & More

Dua Lipa attends the 62nd Annual GRAMMY Awards at Staples Center on Jan. 26, 2020 in Los Angeles.

Billboard’s First Stream serves as a handy guide to this Friday’s most essential releases — the key music that everyone will be talking about today, and that will be dominating playlists this weekend and beyond.

This week, Dua Lipa doesn’t want us to stop dancing, PartyNextDoor has the year’s coolest cameo, and Pearl Jam demonstrate why they’re still a force to be reckoned with. Check out all of this week’s First Stream picks below:

The Album That Will Keep You Boogieing For Many Days To Come:
Dua Lipa, Future Nostalgia

In a relatively short amount of time, U.K. pop artist Dua Lipa has made jumps from blog darling to hitmaker to in-demand collaborator to legit A-lister; in some regards, a lot is riding on sophomore album Future Nostalgia to deliver an even wider audience, but based on her track record, it’s hardly a surprise that Lipa passes this new test with flying colors. A nonstop party that borrows from the past to predict where pop is headed (hence its title), Future Nostalgia is brimming with undeniable bangers that re-imagine classic house, techno and disco with modern production techniques. Tracks like “Hallucinate,” “Break My Heart,” “Levitating” and “Physical” beg for motion, and Lipa dares you to deny her growth as a vocal, sexual, lyrical and universal force of nature. Future Nostalgia just moved the bar a little higher for pop in 2020. Piece of advice: spend the coming days, weeks and months dancing to it.

The Album With The Feature That Everyone Will Be Talking About:

PartyNextDoor, Partymobile

All right, first thing’s first: Rihanna is on the new PartyNextDoor album, and with the surprise guest spot on the flickering sing-along “Believe It,” she sounds as comfortable with her superpowers as ever. Yet that big-time get shouldn’t overshadow PND’s artistic leap forward on Partymobile, which finally gives the compelling R&B singer-songwriter a proper collection of songs to progress his early promise. Surrounding the tracks with Rihanna and his OVO boss Drake, PartyNextDoor goes it alone over sparse arrangements, emphasizing his voice and thoughts on modern love instead of any production gimmickry. A song like “Touch Me,” in which he pleads for human connection as the track disintegrates around him, shows what he is capable of, regardless of whether or not he’s buoyed by an A-list feature.

The Album That You’ll Share With Your Dad, But Secretly Be Playing a Lot, Too:
Pearl Jam, Gigaton

Pearl Jam has the sort of fan base and catalog that ensures packed stadiums for years to come, yet Eddie Vedder and co. have never been the kind to remain frozen in the past. Gigaton, their first album since 2013’s Lightning Bolt, matches the tenacity of that project but has a tighter focus, as a lamentation of the Trump era and wake-up call to those who have gotten complacent during it. The album starts off like a firecracker with tracks like “Who Ever Said” and “Quick Escape,” then naturally pulls back, as mid-tempo rocker “Seven O’Clock” toasts those who have challenged the system and “Comes Then Goes” unfolds like a classic Vedder acoustic sing-along. There are several potshots at the president, sure, but the songs that they anchor are some of Pearl Jam’s best of the 21st century.

The Album That Continues One Of Pop’s Most Interesting Trajectories:
5 Seconds of Summer, Calm

Consider 5 Seconds of Summer’s 2018 hit “Youngblood” the ultimate career inflection point: before that synth-rock radio staple was released, the quartet was best known as pop-punk rabble-rousers, and since it took off, the 5SOS guys have made a hard pivot away from anything that would have made sense at Warped Tour. New album Calm is an accomplished exploration of the group’s expanding palette, as “Easier” was inspired by Nine Inch Nails, “No Shame” contains a guitar line straight out of the Depeche Mode playbook, and you’re bound to recall artists like the Smiths, New Order and Peter Gabriel at different moments. Not to say that Calm is derivative — in the same way that Harry Styles recently mastered his own ‘70s pop-rock revival, 5 Seconds of Summer expertly synthesize their influences into fresh-feeling gems like “Wildflower” and “Red Desert.”

The Song That You’ll Need To Schedule Out Some Time To Hear In Full:
Bob Dylan, “Murder Most Foul”

“Twas a dark day in Dallas, November ’63 / A day that will live on in infamy.” So begins Bob Dylan’s first original song in eight years, a sprawling, nearly 17-minute reflection on the assassination of John F. Kennedy that spirals forward and then becomes so much more. Dylan references touchstones of the ‘60s, from Beatlemania to Woodstock; he name-checks “Only The Good Die Young” from Billy Joel, as well as Etta James and John Lee Hooker; he references A Nightmare on Elm Street; he sings “rub-a-dub-dub.” “Murder Most Foul” will be pored over as an unexpected Dylan artifact and tapestry of American history, but it’s also a poetic reflection on a terrifying time in the world, during another terrifying time in the world, and for that, it should be consumed and appreciated.

The Song That Will Make You Do a Double-Take:
Rosalía, “Dolerme”

When pressing play on a new Rosalía track, one doesn’t expect to hear the mournful chug of an acoustic guitar as an intro. Yet the new ballad “Dolerme” (which translates to “Hurt Me”) once again finds the Spanish star upending expectations, diverging from her uptempo, flamenco-influenced Latin pop to create something that would sound at home on alternative rock radio. As the strumming leads into a full band arrangement, Rosalía delivers the chorus with a familiar urgency but tinkers with her voice, Auto-Tune making her somehow sound even more vulnerable. And then “Dolerme” is over, and we’re left to play it again and try to figure out how Rosalía pulled off such a surprising pivot.

The Album That Delivers On Years of Hype:
Jessie Reyez, Before Love Came To Kill Us

“I’m taking everything I came for / I ain’t f—king asking,” Jessie Reyez sneers early in her long-awaited debut album. Reyez has always been an artist with a ton of promise, and Before Love Came To Kill Us has been in the works for years — but for a project that has surely been tinkered with and agonized over, the full-length possessed a natural charm that no amount of revising could have dulled. The album’s centerpieces (the moving ballad “Love In The Dark,” the doo-wop-warping Eminem collaboration “Coffin”) find a balance with quieter moments, like the sun-kissed love song “Intruders,” in which Reyez threatens bodily harm to anyone threatening her paradise. Fans have been waiting for years to see Reyez get her shot, and Before Love Came To Kill Us is a singular, successful one.

The Song That You’ll Be Adding To Those Summer Playlists You’re Prepping:
Kygo feat. Zara Larsson and Tyga, “Like It Is”

Superstar producer Kygo’s most recent work has included the single “Higher Love” with rediscovered vocals from Whitney Houston, as well as a musical tribute to Avicii, who passed in 2018. “Like It Is,” a new team-up with Zara Larsson and Tyga that precedes Kygo’s next album, is low-stakes by comparison, but hits like a breath of fresh air after his focus remained on heavier subjects. The new single recalls some of the EDM-pop crossover tracks of the early 2010s, with Larsson guiding the hooks between Kygo’s drops and Tyga sliding in with a radio-friendly verse; the whole affair is expertly designed frothy fun, and has been released just in time for an extended run of ubiquity as the weather heats up.

The Song That Will Get You Excited For Cookout Season:
Florida Georgia Line, “I Love My Country”

Is the “country” that the Florida Georgia Line boys are referring to on their latest single the genre that has made them stars, or the US of A? A little of both, perhaps: while the duo’s comeback track shouts out the American acts and memories that they cherish the most, they do so in a manner that pays homage to classic country radio, as they name-check George Strait and sonically recall Brooks & Dunn. For a pair of former party bros who made their name in country by expanding its sound, “I Love My Country” invites the traditionalists in further, harkening to the past while providing a couple of modern voices. Florida Georgia Line keep it simple here, and score.

Rihanna Jumps Back to Music With Partynextdoor on Grooving ‘Believe It’

0

Partynextdoor came back with his first album in four years on Friday morning (March 27), Partymobile. But more importantly for fans thirsty for new Rihanna music, he brought along his old friend for the sensual single «Believe It.»

«Best make me believe it/ Best make me believe it/ Believe you won’t deceive me,» the pair sing on the R&B slow burner’s silky smooth chorus. It’s the first new music from Rihanna since the 2017 N.E.R.D. track «Lemon» and it’s a strong relationship breakdown, with the pair playing lovers imploring each other to believe in the power of their connection.

«First you gotta forgive me Let me know everything gon’ be okay/ Even if I come out with everything I did/ Would you still punish me even though I did it a long time ago?/ If so, let me know/ If I propose, would you say no?/ Would you break my heart?/ Would you embarrass me or play your part?» Party sings over the finger-snap beat, warning that if things don’t work out he might not make it.

The song appears on Party’s OVO Sound album and it marks a reunion with Rihanna, for whom he wrote the 2016 single «Work» featuring Drake, who also appears on the Partymobile track «Loyal.» Rihanna hasn’t released a new album since 2016’s Anti and the Navy has been patiently awaiting word on her next full length.

Drake helped stoke those flames this week when playfully trolled Rih when both tuned into DJ Spade’s IG livestream on Wednesday and Drizzy commented, «Rihanna drop R12 right now.»

Listen to «Believe It» below.
