It’s a strange moment in history, to be sure. Amid the uncertainty and social distancing of coronavirus, you might just be craving a warm embrace. Major Lazer and Marcus Mumford are here to give it to you in sonic form with «Lay Your Head on Me.»

In Mumford’s first-ever feature collaboration, the Mumford & Sons frontman sings a series of reassurances — «This too shall pass, it won’t always be the same» — as the track from Diplo, Walshy Fire and Ape Drums plays like a tropical-folk lullaby, with flecks of guitar, a propulsive beat and a chorus of voices on the chorus.

Premiering Thursday (March 26) as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record in the World, the track was co-written with MØ, who last collaborated with Major Lazer on their massive 2015 hit «Lean On.»

“Lay Your Head on Me” follows Major Lazer’s 2019 release “Que Calor” featuring J Balvin and El Alfa, which was performed by Balvin at the Super Bowl alongside Jennifer Lopez. Hear «Lay Your Head on Me» below.

Taylor Swift Is Sending Stimulus Checks to Some Out-of-Work Fans: See Their Touched Responses

Taylor Swift attends the 2019 Billboard Women In Music at Hollywood Palladium on Dec. 12, 2019 in Los Angeles.

Take that, Congress.

Even with the $2 trillion stimulus package passed by the Senate on Wednesday, millions of Americans are expected to file for unemployment next week as the cascading economic damage wrought by the COVID-19 pandemic continues to devastate the economy. It might be weeks before the $1,200 government checks arrive in mailboxes and even then they’re not likely to ease the pressure for long for those out of work indefinitely.

Taylor Swift has a plan for that. The singer is reaching out with her own Swiftie Stimulus checks to some of her long-time fans, and they are in awe of her generous gesture. Billboard can confirm that there were at least 10 such payments made by Swift on Wednesday (March 25).

«OHHHHH MY F–KINGGGGFFF SHUT HP SHUT UPS BUT IP SHUT UP THIS CANT BE HAPPENING I CANT STOP SHAKONT I CANT STOP CRUING WHAT THE FUCK TULORLRL,» wrote Samantha Jacobson, who posted a message she got from Swift in which the singer wrote, «Samantha, I saw your tweet about being stressed about bills piling up and I want to help.»

The singer asked for the best way to gift Samantha $3,000. According to EW, Jacobson is a longtime fan who lost her job as a cocktail server at Disney World for at least 30 days after the bar she works at was forced to close because of the novel coronavirus that has killed more than 1,000 Americans to date.

Swift also seemingly spotted a post from fan and music photographer Holly  Turner, who said she wrote on Tumblr about her fear that she wouldn’t be able to keep living in New York because of the huge impact the coronavirus has had on the music industry.

Selena Gomez Shares ‘Dance Again’ Clip, Announces New Merch Supporting MusiCares

Selena Gomez has released the music video for her Rare song “Dance Again.” The clip shows Gomez decked out in a Seventies-style wardrobe, dancing alone onstage to the disco-fueled track.

To accompany the video, the singer also announced a new line of “Dance Again”-themed merch, with a portion of the proceeds going toward the MusiCares foundation. In the past few weeks, MusiCares has established a COVID-19 Relief Fund to assist musicians and artists affected by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic; the crisis has decimated the live music industry and cut off many artists from their main source of income.

Gomez released Rare, her third solo album, back in January. Along with “Dance Again,” the LP features the songs “Lose You to Love Me,” “Look at Her Now,” “Feel Me” and the title track. The album is a personal one for Gomez, as she wrote the lead single, “Lose You to Love Me,” with collaborator Julia Michaels after returning from a treatment center.

“When I walked in [the studio], it was literally just the piano and the chorus and a bit of the first verse and I just sat there,” Gomez told Zane Lowe. “And I tell people this, too, because it was also such a very raw moment. A, I had just gotten back, but B, we were in the bright daylight, and that’s not normally how you’re maybe talking about something like that.”

Watch Niall Horan Perform ‘Dear Patience’ on ‘Fallon’

Niall Horan joined Jimmy Fallon for the most recent edition of The Tonight Show, filmed at home in Fallon’s house during the COVID-19 pandemic, to perform “Dear Patience.”

Appearing via video chat at the 7:45 minute mark, Horan discussed his new album, Heartbreak Weather, and how he’s coping with self-quarantine. “It’s crazy, I’ve never Zoom-ed in my life, but here we are,” Horan said, speaking from his apartment in London. Horan added that he’s been penning some new music during his time alone at home. “I wrote a couple of tunes,” he told Fallon. “Definitely finding it relatively hard to get motivated when all I can do is sit in my living room.”

Horan added that he’s happy with how well his album has done since release. “It was a lot of fun to make,” he said. “I had a great time making it. It’s a bit of a shame that I had to release it amongst all of this, but you can’t win every week. It went to No. 1 in the U.K. and Ireland, which was huge for me… It’s a weird time, but a good time.”

The pair also compared their golf games during the video chat and talked about all the touring opportunities Horan has had to put on hold before the singer took on “Dear Patience,” which comes in at the 18:20 mark. “It’s an album track, but I just thought it was very relevant right now because I wrote it at a time when I needed to be patient,” Horan explained. “And if anyone needs to be patient right now it’s all of us.”

Horan released Heartbreak Weather earlier this month. He recently performed a livestream concert for Global Citizen and the World Health Organization’s Together at Home virtual concert series and played several tracks off the album.
