Watch Pink, Fifth Harmony, Shawn Mendes & More Perform At The 2017 VMAs

Tonight (August 27) the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards took place at The Forum in Inglewood, California. Hosted by Katy Perry, the event featured a collection of performances from the likes of PinkFifth HarmonyShawn MendesMiley Cyrus and more! The evening’s big winner Kendrick Lamar, who was nominated for 8 awards and went home with 6 Moon Persons, opened the show with a medley of “DNA” and “Humble.” The 30-year-old rapper brought out some advanced pyrotechnics, performing one of the biggest and boldest sets during the show. He was followed almost immediately by Ed Sheeran who crooned his song of the summer contender “Shape Of You” with the accompaniment of a full band and switched things up by bringing out Lil Uzi Vert to add a rapped portion to the striding song.

It was a dramatic night for Fifth Harmony, who referenced the departure of fifth member Camila Cabello at the beginning of their set. The quartet performed two tracks from their third LP, the slinky buzz track “Angel” and bubbly lead single “Down”alongside Gucci Mane. Executing choreography with ease, it was a strong moment for the group. Lorde had one of the most confusing moments of the evening. After coming down with the flu and losing her voice the Melodrama siren danced across the stage to “Homemade Dynamite.” It was commendable to perform while under the weather but absolutely confusing.

Demi Lovato traveled to Las Vegas to perform her unapologetic “Sorry Not Sorry”poolside. It was a confident set for the 25-year-old hitmaker and will hopefully give the anthem a push up the charts. Miley Cyrus meanwhile channelled the 50’s for her performance of “Younger Now,” delivering strong vocals while recreating the Elvis-themed video. Shawn Mendes delivered another standout moment while performing his latest hit “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back.”

Up and coming rapper Cardi B performed her fan favorite “Bodak Yellow” at the pre-show. She was joined by Bleachers who performed their summer anthem “Don’t Take the Money” and Best New Artist winner Khalid who performed his breakout hit “Location” outside the venue. Fellow newcomers Julia Michaels and Kyle performed during the official show, but were relegated to performing during commercial breaks. Alessia Cara took the stage twice to perform her inspiring single “Scars to Your Beautiful” and then again alongside Logic and Khalid for a stirring rendition of “1-800-273-8255.”

This year’s Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award recipient Pink performed a quick medley of her biggest singles, riding across the stage and effortlessly moving from hit to hit in front of clips from her iconic videography. She ended her set with a dance-heavy performance of current single “What About Us” that was truly a highlight of the evening. Although she didn’t swing from the ceiling, the 37-year-old was one of the hottest moments of the full evening. Another impressive moment came when DNCEunited with Rod Stewart for “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy.”

Katy Perry brought her “Swish Swish” collaborator Nicki Minaj onstage to close out the evening. Playing up the theme from the just-released video, Perry dressed up as a basketball and bounded around the stage with unending energy. Nicki appeared from behind a moving set piece while dressed as a referee and rapped her verse surrounded by a group of dancers. The evening came to a close after the performance, as basketball balloons rained down on the crowd. Check out the performances down below!

David Guetta Is a Fickle Electro Lover on Charlie Puth «Attention» Remix

The producer’s hot-and-cold take on the track characterizes the fickle lover at the heart of the tune.

David Guetta giveth and David Guetta taketh away. His remix of Charlie Puth’s hit “Attention” was released Thursday (Aug. 24) and on it the superstar producer takes us for quite the wild ride.

The remix opens with familiar chords in a faster pace, but before it gets to the hook, it makes a quick turn up a mountain made of electricity. Soon, you’re white knuckling it on the dance floor and just when you think the roller coaster will make its drop, the ground falls out from under your feet. You’re left standing under a spotlight, looking around, wondering what happened to the room — then the beat comes back and the cycle begins all over again.

It’s a real trip a remix and the latest in a string of Guetta’s releases this summer and fittingly characterizes the fickle lover at the heart of Puth’s tune.

Drake Sports Rihanna-Inspired Socks in Instagram Photo

They’re from the singer’s latest collab with Fenty.

Drake posted a photo on Instagram this week that contains a down low tribute to his ex-girlfriend Rihanna.

In the pic, Drake is casually sprawled across his couch while not-so-subtly flaunting Rihanna’s «Fenty for Stance» socks that feature full-length stitchwork of RiRi’s likeness. Further adding to the brilliant complexity, on the sock Rihanna’s wearing the outfit that she donned in the first part of her and Drake’s «Work» music video.

The «One Dance» singer adds another ode to his and Rihanna’s past by captioning the photo «Trabajo» which translates to «Work» in Spanish.

The two had been on and off again since 2010 until finally calling quits in October 2016.

Playing: Miley Cyrus Poses as a Nearly Nude Fairy Princess for David LaChapelle’s New Book

Miley Cyrus has never shied away from showing skin, but she’s never quite looked as magical as she does on the cover of photographer David LaChapelle’s new coffee table book, Lost + Found.

The «Malibu» singer is nearly unrecognizable in the colorful photo, rocking a wild blonde wig and heavy, glittery makeup to really complete the fairy princess look.

While she appears to be nude, the 25-year-old Younger Now artist is actually sporting a super sheer bodysuit embellished with strategically placed clusters of pink Swarovski crystals.

ABC Uses Taylor Swift’s «Look What You Made Me Do» in New TGIT Promo

The network just debuted a new promo for the returns of its Thursday Shonda Rhimes block set to Swift’s new single.

ABC has turned to Taylor Swift to help promote the return of its TGIT-branded lineup of Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal and How to Get Away With Murder.

Timed with the release of Swift’s new single «Look What You Made Me Do,» the network on Thursday night (Aug. 24) rolled out the 30-second promo set to the catchy tune.

Swift is a noted Grey’s Anatomy superfan — one of her cats is named Meredith, after star Ellen Pompeo’s character on the Shonda Rhimes medical drama. The new TGIT promo is not Swift’s first role in Shondaland — Grey’s Anatomy featured Swift’s «White Horse» in the season five premiere. What’s more, Pompeo was among the cameos in Swift’s «Bad Blood» video. (It also helps that Rhimes is also a big Swift fan, too.)

Also of note, ABC’s Twitter accounts for all three shows used Swift-related hashtags Thursday to join the discussion about both the single as well as the forthcoming album, «Reputation.»

So while the new TGIT promo does not feature new footage from the forthcoming seasons of Grey’s, Scandal or How to Get Away With Murder, at least it offers another excuse to hear «Look What You Made Me Do.»

Check out the promo, below:
