Jason Derulo Enlists Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla Sign for His New Track “Swalla”

0

After months and months of teasers, Jason Derulo’s new single “Swalla” is finally here.

The Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla Sign-assisted track was previewed back in September on Jason’s Instagram page. The 27-year-old singer shared a snippet of the song with a caption that read “dopest track ever,” and later dished about his decision to team up with Nicki and Ty. “Swalla” definitely has potential. Though there’s a lot going on in the song, the electronic-infused Carribean sound is expected to get a lot of love in the dance clubs. Both Jason and Ty handle their verses nicely, but Nicki is definitely the star.

Orlando Bloom Visits Children Affected Violence in Niger

0

Orlando Bloom recently returned from a trip to Diffa, the southeast region of Niger, where hundreds of thousands of children have been forced from their homes due to Boko Haram violence.

“As a father, it is hard for me to imagine how many of these children are caught up in this conflict. During my trip, I have heard dreadful stories about children fleeing on foot, leaving everything behind, including the safety of their homes and classroom,” said the Goodwill Ambassador, who’s been on several missions with UNICEF since 2007.

Bloom, who shares 6-year-old son Flynn with ex-wife Miranda Kerr, met with many children and families in Diffa where over 240,000 internally displaced persons reside and receive aid from a UNICEF-supported psychosocial support unit.

“This visit has been extremely moving. Every single child I met is affected by this conflict and in desperate need of basic services such as clean water, psychological care and education to help them recover from the atrocities they have suffered and witnessed. They deserve a childhood,” Bloom said.

John Mayer Drops ‘Search for Everything’ Wave Two.

0

Instead of releasing his music as one full album, John Mayer is releasing new songs in waves and the second wave of The Search for Everything has arrived!

The four new songs – “Still Feel Like Your Man,” “Emoji of a Wave,” “Helpless,” and “Roll it on Home” – are available to download on iTunes and stream on Spotify.

“There were too many songs to ever get out the door at once,” John previously said about the reason for the staggered release of the music.

#HotCollaboration: The Chainsmokers & Coldplay

0

Relax, it’s ok! I know a lot of fans feared the worst when they heard Coldplay had joined forces with The Chainsmokers, but “Something Just Like This” works. And it’s really not that surprising. Drew and Alex’s rise to the top of EDM has been fueled by emo-bangers like “Closer” and “All We Know,” while Chris Martin & Co. have been playing with our emotions since the arrival of Parachutes way back in 2000.

The Chainsmokers & Coldplay Team Up For New Single “Something Just Like This”

It’s also not the band’s first dalliance with dance. After all, Avicii produced “A Sky Full Of Stars” and that’s now viewed as something of a late classic.

“She said, ‘Where you want to go? How much you want to risk?’ I’m not looking for somebody with some superhuman gift, some superhero, some fairytale bliss,” Chris croons over shimmery synths. “Just something I can turn to, somebody I can kiss. I want something just like this.” It’s all very polite and romantic until The Chainsmokers pull the trigger with a “Roses”-like drop. On the first listen, I don’t love it as much as “Paris” or “Don’t Let Me Down,” but everyone escapes with their dignity intact. Give it a spin below.

The Brit Awards 2017: David Bowie dominates

0

The nominations were a showcase for the diversity of British music, but in the end David Bowie dominated the 2017 Brit awards. The star, who died last January, was awarded best British male and best British album, for his mournful swansong, Blackstar.

His victory meant that grime artists left without any trophies, despite a breakthrough year for the genre. However, Skepta stole the show with a blazing performance of Shut Down.South London MC Stormzy also joined Ed Sheeran on stage for a new version of his single Shape Of You; while Emeli Sande, the soul star who started out singing on tracks by Wiley and Chipmunk, won best British female.

Bowie’s wins were a fitting tribute to one of Britain’s most influential and groundbreaking musicians. Collecting the best album prize, his son the film director Duncan Jones spoke about the star’s enduring legacy.

“He’s always been there supporting people who think they’re a little bit weird or a little bit strange. He’s ways been there for them. “This award is for all the kooks and all the people who make the kooks,” he said, referencing the song his father wrote for him as a child, from the Hunky Dory album.

Rihanna is being recognized for her charity and humanitarian work around the world!

The 29-year-old singer will be honored as Harvard University’s 2017 Humanitarian of the Year and will accept the Peter J. Gomes Humanitarian Award at a ceremony on campus next week!

“Rihanna has charitably built a state-of-the-art center for oncology and nuclear medicine to diagnose and treat breast cancer at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Bridgetown, Barbados,” said Harvard Foundation director S. Allen Counter.

Rihanna created the Clara Lionel Foundation in honor of her grandparents in order to improve health, education, arts, and culture around the world along with offering scholarships for students from Caribbean countries. Lana Del Rey’s new video is a love story set in outer space

0

Lana Del Rey just released a new video for her track “Love,” the first single off her upcoming fifth studio album. The clip, directed by Rich Lee, tells a pretty average love story (boy and girl ride off into the sunset in their vintage car) before trading in the video’s initial West Coast setting for outer space.

While most of Del Rey’s videos tend to rely on the drama of the terrestrial Earth —whether it’s a dusty open road or a rocky beach — she has previously discussed her interest in the extraterrestrial. In an interview with Zane Lowe on Beats 1 last year, LDR said she admired Elon Musk for pushing SpaceX into new territory. “Technologically, we’re advancing so quickly, I don’t want to miss any of it,” she said. “I feel like we’re on the cusp just the way they were in the ‘60s, but in a different way.”

In a statement about the video, she said, “I made my first four albums for me, but this one is for my fans and about where I hope we are all headed,” according to Rolling Stone. I guess she hopes we’re all headed somewhere with a little less gravity.

This Year’s Met Gala Will Be Co-Chaired By

0

The 2017 Met Gala theme has been announced. The focus will be on Comme des Garçons’s designer Rei Kawakubo, which is pretty crazy in and of itself. This makes Kawakubo only the second living designer to be honored at the annual exhibit, following Yves Saint Laurent in 1983. Since Comme des Garçons is known not only for avant-garde looks that shape the figure in dramatic ways, but also for iconic street style items, the event calls for some experimental co-chairs.

According to People, Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen will co-chair the event, which they’ve been attending since 2008. Anna Wintour will be hosting alongside Katy Perry and Pharrell, who worked on a perfume with Comme des Garçons for his Girlalbum in 2014. Read on for a quick preview of what we expect to see on May 1 when the gallery doors are finally opened and the red carpet rolls out.
